Reflection on Audience Awareness
1. Linda Flower stresses the importance of audience awareness in composing while Elbow concludes that the question/issue with audience awareness is when. How would you explain the connections between these two points of view?
Linda talks about the audience awareness the whole time. And you have to think all the time in the reader.
And Elbow talks about that not necessary you have to think in the reader, only some times you have to. That you shouldn’t stress out about the reader so much.
2. In general, what have you learned from Linda Flower’s and Peter Elbow’s article as a writer and as a reader?
I have learned from the reading that audience awareness depends on several points, like the writer personality, the type of audience. Its good to keep the audience in mind, but that I shouldn’t stress out if don’t think about the audience while im writing, as long as keep in mind when I revise it.

Rhetorical Awareness
Q1.You are probably aware of the importance of Rhetorical reading thus far. I would like to know how you would evaluate your use of rhetorical reading strategies and whether you will have any plans to improve your rhetorical skills and what are the plans?
Before entering this class, I haven’t a clear thought of what rhetorical reading was about. Now that I learned the concept, I get realized that unconsciously I used this method in the past, but I don’t know till now. I use it when I read something of my own interest, and I star to read I go beyond the text trying to get the writers complete idea and her personal point of view, and reading rhetorically help me a lot. Now that I know the concept I try to apply to every reading that I take, because practicing it would help me improve my rhetorical skills.
Q2.You are also expected to have a good understanding about Writer-Based Prose and Reader-Based Prose and the difference between them lies in the use of Rhetorical Strategies. I would like to know how you would differentiate the use of rhetorical strategies in writing (from reading as above) and what will be your plans to improve your rhetorical strategies in writing.
Its easy to identify from each other, writer- based prose is the writer personal thoughts, experiences, point of view, emotions, etc. so you automatically can identified by reading the text, also you can see the language he use, because he might put words that you don’t understand but he does, and this is because in this text the writer doesn’t focus on the reader, he doesn’t care if its able to read to others.
And a reader-based prose, the writers put everything in order for the reader can understand the complete idea of what his talking about, he puts on the reader shoes to try to make his writing simple, also he put friendly language so you can understand perfectly. He does all this, cause he wants to make sure that the reader get his point.
To improve my rhetorical writing skills, I will put myself in the readers shoes, so I can write what the readers what to read. I already do this because I am a lazy person when reading is about, so I try to get short on my writing and go directly to the point.
